50th Anniversary
Saint Andrew's Camp celebrated it's 50th Anniversary this summer. The 4 day
event, including workshops, tours, and planning sessions culminated in the
blessing of Lake Oneida and the camp grounds by Metropolitan HERMAN on
August 18, 2007
A Strategic Planning workshop/conference for the camp was held at Saint
Vladimir's Seminary on January 3, 2005. In the near future (as was once the
case in the past), the camp hopes to be available year-round for retreats
and gatherings of diocesan clergy, laity, and other groups.
His Beatitude has been very supportive of the camp's vision, mission and
goals, and was impressed by the location and facilities. He promised to
encourage diocesan parishes and clergy to increase their commitment to, and
participation in, Saint Andrew's Camp.
Potential counselors, RNs, WSI's, craft teachers, & cooks interested in
participating in the development of the camp and/or volunteering to work at
the camp are encouraged to contact us for more information.
With us everything should be secondary compared to our concern with children, and their upbringing in the instruction and teaching of the Lord" - Saint John Chrysostom
